Card Making Monday # 15 - Just You

Hello. todays card is a simple one. I don't typically make an entire card out of an embossing folder but in this case the folder says it all. So I simply fit the paper to the size of the folder and used alternating layers to beef the card up a bit.
Heres a close up of the emboss. I used You. It's by Cuttlebug.

Have a great week and please stop by for my Thursday Using My Tools and my Saturday Scrapbook Page postings. Please leave a comment or this pst or any of my posts as you browse my blog. Take care and now it's your turn to make something beautiful!

OWH Sketch #192

Hi all! I finally finished this sketch card. What a busy Sunday! It's 9:15 p.m. but I did it. So here is my version of the sketch. I placed the oval sentiment in the upper right hand corner instead of the bottom left because it just suit my image better. That whole balance in design thing, lol.
192 Sketch

Believe or not I used a winter 6x6 paper pad. It's Blissful Blizzard by Fancy Pants. I wanted to make more of a masculine card so I figured I'd go dark and nuetral with the cardstock. The image is from Lili of the Valley Get Well Bunny ST062 and it comes with the sentiment. Unfortunately, I've had to send out too many of these and my stash was getting low so a get well card it was for this sketch.
For the center strip, I added some May Arts ribbon. I have very little May Arts ribbon. I live 45 minutes from my Local Scrapbooking Store so I don't get there too often; about 2 or 3 times a year. So, I treasure my May Arts ribbon. If anyone can tell me where I can find some on-line to buy by the yard I would appreciate it.  I just love that ribbon. It's so luscious; dare I say yummy!

Here are the Copic markers I used to color in the image. Working on building my stash of markers too. I own about 60 or so now. It's taken me about 2+ years to acrue those. It's slow going but I'm getting there. lol.  I'm definately enjoying a little more freedom with color choice now than when I owned ten! lol.

I hope you enjoyed my card and please consider becoming a follower of my blog! I'd love to check out your crafty projects and follow your blog too. I'm always looking for inspiration! Please leave a comment and let me know what you like best about this card. It helps me to know what you guys like and directs my posts.

Many Sunday blessings to you and now it's your turn to make something beautiful!

Scrapbook Saturday # 14 - Sounds of Music

Welcome visitors! Todays page showcases my daughters first violin recital. In this layout I used some intrument patterned paper and added a violin instrument embellishment.

For the violin I made some wood grain paper on photo paper, using my versamark, a brayer and some brown ink.You may recognize the date at the bottom of the page. I have begun to date the scrapbook pages of the date I completed it. I have been scrapbooking photos out of order and since I'm so far behind in scrapbooking my children's baby and toddler photos I figured my skill will improve over time.. Since the books will fluctuate in perfection. lol and a date will explain the comparison over time.

I hope you enjoy my page and please take time to leave some comments below. Now...it's your turn. Go make something beautiful today.

I used some stitching to add a little texture and a birthday stamp from the dollar bin. The name of the stamp is Boys-Hanging Around

These are the Copics I used to color the image and i edged the stamped image using Colorbox Ice Glace oigment ink.

Card Making Monday # 14 - Felt Flower

Hello again, it's the beginning of another week and another Monday Card Making post.
I used OWH sketch 62 for this card. I grabbed some scraps from my stash and the last felt flower I had stuffed way down in my sticker box. I was so excited to plunk this little guy on this card because every time I went searching in that sticker box I looked at it and I felt it was never just right. Yeah! Yippee! This cute flower finally found a home.

Nothing too dramatic about this card, a simple block style, simple sentiment from Hero Arts, a scrap of ribbon and one single flower embellishment. That's all she wrote for this Monday card creation.

Enjoy your day, please leave a comment below and as I always say...it's your turn to make something beautiful!

OWH Sketch #191-Hello

Good Morning OWHer's! I cvan hardly believe we are at the end of another weekend. Ready for Monday all? I've been feeling under the weather with a pretty hefting cough this weekend but I wanted to muster up enough energy to make a card for the sketch.
I used papers from My Minds Eye Quilting Bee 6x6 pad. I thought they looked a little vinetage so I pulled out my From My Kitchen Cartridge to look for an image. I added a sentiment on the bottom of the telephone. I still thought the card needed a little more so I added some brads and embroidery stitching.
I attached the phone on one side with ATG and popped up the other side to match the demension on the bannered piece.

I hope you like my card and leave a little comment on what you like best about it. Have a great week and I hope find time to make something beautiful!

Card Making Monday # 13 - Celebrate with Balloons!

Welcome on this fantastic Monday and thankyou for visiting my Card Making Monday post this week!  You can find a tutorial on how to make a Joy Fold card here. You can also find more tutorials on my tutorial tab here.
Being that I'm on a birthday card kick lately I pulled out my birthday storage container and rummaged through it for some inspiration. I found tis fun patterned paper that I think came from a  stack at ACMoore.

In thinking now I should have added some stamping or embossing to the ballons for added interest but too late now. The cardstock came form Bazill.  I made a pull tag for the sentiment which I thought would be a fun element.

I also stamped a balloon image inside. I think I'm going to start adding some complimentary stamping on the emvelopes. I don't usually do that but I've seen a few youtube videos whwere they incorporate that and it's a nice addition.

Thank you to my followers for always checking out my latest creation and if your visiting please consider following me. If you become a follower I'll send you a shout out on this weeks Feature Friday post and link your blog so others can visit you too.
( Unfortunately, there are some who have not posted in the comments or sent me the link to their blog in an email. I will not be hunting for your blog so if you don't post your blog address I won't be able to link it up)

Card Making Monday # 12 - Masculine Happy Birthday

Welcome! It's Card Making Monday!
I'm on a Birthday card mission to build up my birthday card stash. I'm always caught off gaurd with birthdays. They always come so fast. So, I've determined to make some in advance and have them on hand. This card was pretty quick and I really like it. I think I might make a few more using camoflauge patterned paper in the background too! What ya think?
I just love the texured look of the deer stamp. It makes it look silkscreened. The elemnts are simple but I think they came together nicely.

I just love all the layers and I think the twine just adds an outdoorsy, masculine feel.

Simple masculine birthday card that didn't take too much time to make. So what's your favorite part of this card? Tell me in the comments box below.  A special thanks to all my followers for visting today and if your not a follower yet please consider doing so. Have a excellant week and now it's your turn to make something beautiful!

Scrapbook Saturday # 11 - Back to Nature

Hello! Welcome back for another Saturday posting. This page exhibits the hiking trip my husband took with our sons. I didn't use a sketch for this one. I started out with a sketch but ended with my own design. I used Home Decor Cartridge for the branch embellishments.

The journalling was typed using my Microsoft Word and the Letters of the title were cut from Sure Cuts Alot program and my Cricut. i did learn one thing while making this page. lol Don't eat potao chips while scrapbooking. In the center of the two pages there are greasy finger prints. You can seeremnants of them just above the journaling.  I should journal that somewhere on the page just for kicks. lol.

Thanks again for visting. I hope you enjoyed my page and take time for yourself today on these busy Saturdays to make something beautiful!

Card Making Monday # 11 - Birdie Miss You

Hello followers and friends and welcome to my space on the blogs sphere! I'm so glad your here to check out my next Card Making Monday project! For this card it was a bit of work to find just the right layout in order to use up some scraps from my My Minds Eye 6x6 Paper pad Sunshine
I used OWH Sketch 158, my Recollections 1 1/2 inch square punch and some brown embroidery thread to hold the button in place. The background cream cardstock paper has colored specs in it which adds a nice touch by pulling in the colors in the patterned paper.

I added demensional adhesive to the sentiment area and ofcourse used lots of layers throughout the card design.

Thanks again for visiting and if your not already doing so,  please consider following me. Have a great week and now it's your turn to make something beautiful!

Labor Day Weekend VCMP- Sunday Challenges

Back for another day of partying! I'm off and running to complete todays challenges for the Operation Write Home Virtual Card Making Party...

Chanlenge Sketch #188
For this card I used the MME- Moments patterned paper, Best Wishes sentiment by Hero Arts (I just LOVE their senimtent stamps!), and embellishements from my stash.

Challenge #6 - Kids Tic Tac Toe
This is my card. See the Tic Tac Toe card below....
I used the top row across. Things with wings is the fairy image (from Lili of the Valley) and the butterflies, I stamped the image and colored it (with Copics) and then used a EK punch to embellish.

Challenge #7 -Fall Theme

Ok so I misunderstood the oringal posting of this on the OWH website and made a card with full themed - flowers. lol  I'll repost that card later on in another post...hmmm. I guess I'll double dip from a post yesterday; a leaf card I made. Here it is....

Challenge #8 - Use Bees
Well, this challenge calls for a bee stamp. I don't own any bee stamps but i did have some bee stickers to use. This is what I came up with. I guess today I was in the mood to use circles. lol The center circle was embossed with a flower pattern. unfortunately the pattern doesn't show up very well on the camera. I also inked the edges with black ink just to tie in the yellow and black

I just love these little bees I bought from ACMoore.

Onto Challenge #9- Reverse die cut.
To be honest I had always wanted to try this technique but never buckled down to do it. I was so glad to be challenged to do so and I really like how it came out. It took quite a bit more time than typical cards but in the end I love the result!

I hope you enjoyed my Sunbday challenge cards for the VCMP at OWH! Please come back and join me for my Card MAking Ondays, my Using My Tools Thursdays and Scrapbook Page Saturday and check out what I've been crafting. Take care and enjoy your holiday! Now it's your turn, go make something beautiful!
